Hey there, I’m Les, and I’m the heart and soul behind CraftBeerDog, your new favorite haunt for all things craft beer. My love affair with craft beer started with the rich, layered flavors that just can’t be found in your run-of-the-mill supermarket beer aisle.

As I ventured into the world of home-brewing, I couldn’t help but share the incredible beers I was crafting with friends and fellow enthusiasts. That’s when the idea struck me – why not spread this joy farther? I wanted to create a platform where anyone in the USA could find exactly where to go for top-notch craft beer, right in their backyard. So, I rolled up my sleeves and started brewing up not just beer, but ideas, too.

The result? CraftBeerDog – a place born from a half dozen home-brewed batches and a desire to share the pleasure of well-crafted beer. It’s not just about the unique tastes or the satisfaction of supporting local breweries; it’s about community, discovery, and the delight of finding a new favorite among the bubbling fermenters of America’s hidden gems.

And now, you’re part of this journey. Whether you’re a seasoned craft beer connoisseur or just beer-curious, I’m here to help you navigate the vibrant craft beer scene. Imagine CraftBeerDog as your trusty companion, leading you to your next incredible sip.

So, how does a humble home-brewer translate a passion for hops and malt into a handy guide for others? Well, that’s a journey in itself – one that’s all about showing you that craft beer is more than a beverage; it’s an experience, one that everyone should have the pleasure of savoring.

Crafting the Brew – My Philosophy on Beer Tasting

I’ve always believed that the most exceptional flavors come from the hands of those who brew with passion and precision. That’s why craft beer holds a special place in my heart. In my opinion, nothing compares to the depth and variety that small-scale, artisanal breweries bring to the table (or should I say, to the pint glass?).

It’s not just about the freedom to experiment with unique ingredients or the meticulous attention to the brewing process; it’s also about the stories behind each batch. As someone who has crafted more than half a dozen home-brews, I’ve experienced firsthand the excitement of tweaking a recipe until it sings. And let me tell you, that moment when you’ve nailed it? It’s pure magic.

Now, I’m not knocking mass-produced beers—they have their place. But if you’re after a vibrant array of flavors and a more intimate connection with what’s in your glass, craft beer is where it’s at. My own brewing escapades have connected me to a world of like-minded individuals who share a common goal: to savor every drop, and to continuously innovate to elevate our collective beer-tasting experience.

Through CraftBeerDog, I want to invite you on a journey that celebrates not just the end product, but the craft itself. Together, let’s explore the endless possibilities that come from small batches with big heart. It’s about more than just beer; it’s about community, heritage, and a relentless pursuit of quality. So, raise a glass to the beauty of craft beer—I hope you’re as thrilled as I am to delve into this delicious world.

Your Guide to Craft Beer Nirvana

I’m devoted to the belief that no matter where you are in the USA, there’s a craft beer paradise waiting for you. Whether you’re a seasoned craft beer enthusiast or just dipping your toes into the world of artisanal brews, CraftBeerDog is your compass to the finest local tasting events and breweries.

I’ve meticulously gathered a treasure trove of the best craft beer havens in each of the 50 states. This isn’t a random collection; I’ve personally checked out many of these spots, ensuring that they meet high standards of quality, creativity, and of course, taste. It’s about more than just giving you names and addresses- it’s sharing a part of the craft beer culture I love so much.

CraftBeerDog isn’t just a directory; it’s an ever-growing community. I am genuinely passionate about helping you explore the rich landscape of craft beer and hope to kindle that same excitement in you. From frosty ales to robust stouts, join us as we celebrate the art of craft beer together.

HI.  Thanks for the introduction.  I enjoy craft beers but I know very little about them.  I have a son-in-law who does a craft beer review on a radio station in Boulder Creek, CA. So, I rely on him to tell me what beer to try when we go to dinner.  Now, I can read you articles and sound like I know something when I talk to him.  I am looking forward to more on your site.

      Well, hello there!

I’ve tried doing beer reviews, but my palate just isn’t good enough to distinguish the fine ingredients that go into it. Now I just go for the beers I enjoy drinking while sitting on the porch.

We’ll get more on this site in the near future. But first we have to finish our move back to the USA in the coming weeks.

      Cheers!

I enjoyed getting to know you, Les. Thank you for including an affiliate disclosure, this makes me feel at ease that you and your website are honest. That is very important to me, so many scams online now that worry me.

Your guide on craft beer is extremely helpful, I used to drink beer regularly in my younger days. Now that I am in my 60s not as much. I am not familiar with Craft Beer, you have educated me on this in your guide.

Could you help me by explaining in more detail what Craft Beer actually is.

      Hi, Jeff! Cheers!

Craft beer is typically known for being produced at a small scale, less than 6M barrels according to the US Brewers Association. Generally, the brewery is independently owned. High quality ingredients are used in such a way as to create unique flavors and aromas. Did you know Budweiser (a macro brew) has rice as one of its ingredients? Craft beers can change flavor and aroma from one batch to the next as the brewer experiments with the ingredients. And, finally, craft beers and their brewers tend to draw a large community around them.

      Hope this helps, Les
